Charlie Kirk statue vandalised outside Turning Point USA headquarters

September 15, 2026 2 min read

A bronze memorial dedicated to late right wing activist Charlie Kirk was targeted by vandals just days after being unveiled outside the Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. The statue, which was installed last Thursday to commemorate the first anniversary of Kirk’s death, was discovered Sunday morning covered in red spray paint. According to organization officials, the attackers specifically targeted Kirk’s face and neck, as well as religious symbols including a cross and references to Jesus on an accompanying sign.

Tyler Bowyer, the chief operating officer of Turning Point USA, took to social media to condemn the act, describing those responsible as radical criminals. The organization noted with particular distress that the red paint was concentrated around the statue’s neck, mirroring the location where Kirk was fatally shot during an attack while addressing students at Utah Valley University a year ago. That violent encounter was captured on video and led to the arrest of Tyler Robinson, who is currently facing potential capital punishment after pleading not guilty to murder charges earlier this month.

Phoenix police responded to reports of the vandalism on Sunday morning and have begun investigating the scene. While Turning Point USA stated they intend to restore the monument and replace any damaged signage immediately, they are also reviewing surveillance footage from the site. The group emphasized that they are working closely with local law enforcement to identify the perpetrators and ensure they are held accountable for the defacement of the memorial.
